Pete shook her hand and returned his once she let go. "Jessi? That short for anything?" he asked. Of course his real name was Peter but he prefered Pete, Peter sounded rich boy-ish and he couldn't stand those stuck up b.astards.

Jessi arched an eyebrow. "Well yes, but I don't use my real name," she said. She hated her real name and would be ready to strangle the person who used it. The only people who ever called her Jessica was her parents and she always told them to called her JESSI.
"It's Jessica- but if you ever call me that I'll murder you in your sleep," she added darkly.

Pete chuckled and put his hands up in the air. "Ok ok, s.hit. I'll stick with Jessi," he laughed. He wasn't sensitive about his real name- ok maybe sometimes, but not like this chick! He was left without anything to say and he just sat there in an awkward silence, he hated awkward silences!
"So...you have any of your stories with you?" he asked. He would like to see just how good she wrote, it was great seeing other peoples work, it braught out more of their personalities.

Jessi laughed as she watched Pete put his hands up. "Aw I'm sorry, I just hate my name," she said. "For...personal reasons." Yes Jessi had a good reason for hating her name, but she just hated it even worse if people asked.
"Yeh actually, it's in one of my bags somewhere, but I don't think you'd like to read anything. I write peoms and lyrics more than stories," she said. Most of her stuff was mellow stuff, nothing nobody else hasn't heard.

Pete nodded, apparently she was sensitive about her real name and she had a reason, so he wouldn't push his luck with her good mood. He kept up with the subject about her writing. "I wanna see, I don't care, I read peoples nuts all the time I'm used to reading all kinda of things," he said.

Jessi sighed and zipped open her bag and pulled a few things out and had to rumage through it for a while before she finally pulled a deep blue wooden book out. She put her things back in and zipped her bag closed. The boz was covered with different designs and there was glitter all over the words "Jessi's: Keep Out!". She opened the box and looked through a few of her papers before finally grabbing one. She blushed and muttered, "I'll read it." She cleared her throat and read.
How I wish I could surrender my soul; Shed the clothes that become my skin; See the liar that burns within my needing. How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold. How I wish I had screamed out loud, Instead I've found no meaning.
I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain, All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray. I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble. It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain.
How I wish I could walk through the doors of my mind; Hold memory close at hand, Help me understand the years. How I wish I could choose between Heaven and Hell. How I wish I would save my soul. I'm so cold from fear.
I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain, All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray. I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble. Far, far away; find comfort in pain. All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble. It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain.
She was blushing madly, she hadn't read any of her lyrics to anyone except a close friend back home and she had no idea how she sounded. Desperate? Oh god she hoped not.

Pete listened and admired her righting. As Ashlee Simpson would say, it sounded as if she had been Beautifully Broken. Her writting was beautiful, he wanted to tell her she should publish it but then again he didn't want to scare her into anything big.
"That was really good! I mean really good," he repeated. "That cramping pays off," he said and laughed.

Jessi laughed shakily, glad that he liked it. Yes it was from a lifetime of ______, but she could get some beauty out of it all. She never wanted to go back yes, but that didn't mean she couldn't write about it. She loved to write and share her deep feeling with the pen and paper, it was just her way of relieving it.
"Well thanks, that means a lot," she said. She placed it back into the box neatly and closed the box back up. "That was one of my newest so...thanks," was all she could say as she smiled at him.
